What is in the box

Per the store listing, each bag is one ingredient and all three are freeze dried raw in Pennsylvania. The ingredient lists and label figures for liver and tripe are on their own store pages, so we have not restated them here. Because these are raw products, read the FDA handling notes in raw, cooked or freeze-dried before you open the bags, and check each bag against anything your dog is known to react to.

How the three differ

Going by the store's descriptions, liver is the crumbly, strong-smelling one, tripe is the pungent one, and heart is the lean, chewy, quiet one. Those are brand descriptions of texture and smell, not nutrition claims, and we do not rank the three.

The reason to buy a set is simple: if you do not know which your dog will go for, you do not have to pick one blind.

Why start with heart

The store suggests heart as the first bag to open for a dog that has not had organ treats before, since it is the mildest of the three. That is brand wording about smell, not medical advice. As with any new food, offer a small piece, go slowly and ask your vet if your dog has a health condition or a special diet. More on the basics in is beef heart good for dogs and is beef heart organ meat.

Questions

What is in the Beef Trio?

One 3 oz bag of freeze-dried beef liver, one 2 oz bag of freeze-dried beef tripe and one 3 oz bag of freeze-dried beef heart.

Does every bag have one ingredient?

Yes. Per the listing, each bag holds only the beef part named on its front.

Why start with heart?

The listing rates it the mildest of the three, so it is the gentlest introduction by smell. That is about smell and texture, not health.

Can I get a recurring order of the trio?

No. The trio is a one-time purchase. The single heart bags offer Subscribe and save, on the heart page.

Do you ship it free?

At today's price the set clears the store's free shipping minimum by itself, according to the listing. The cart shows the rule that applies to your order.

Rather start with heart only?

Heart comes in 1.5, 3 and 6 ounce bags.
